A large freshwater turtle with red marks on the side of the face. Yellowish lines on the face, neck, legs, and the shell. It was attempting to dig a nest, but the soil was too hard. So it tried twice more to dig a nest, but failed. Then it moved under the shrubs. The nesting area was in my friends side garden. The turtle probably came from Northstar Park Pond about half a block to the south.

A large wide bodied moth. A narrow whitish band running from the wing tip to the base, and white streaks along the veins. Pink on the hind wing. Landed in my Boxwood hedge in the morning and stayed until after sunset.
