I joined in the early days of iNaturalist and love being part of this kind of collaborative citizen science. I'm based out of the UK but my main specialism is Madagascar. I am author of 'Madagascar Wildlife: A Visitor's Guide' as well as the 'Madagascar' guidebook published by Bradt Travel Guides and another travel book called 'Madagascar Highlights'. I regularly lead small-group overland wildlife tours across Madagascar, lecture aboard small expedition cruise ships in the western Indian Ocean, and have also given lectures on Madagascar at the Royal Geographical Society, Oxford University and the Anglo-Malagasy Society (a London-based organisation of which I have been the Secretary since 2012).

I've been visiting Madagascar regularly for more than 20 years, and my photographs have been published in various field guides, magazines, guide books, tour brochures and calendars. My iNaturalist activity is not limited to Madagascar and the Indian Ocean islands; I log observations wherever I go and have a broad interest in flora, fauna and fungi. However, I do have particular interests in spiders, reptiles and amphibians.
