Angela Simpson

I have recently finished my Master of Science at the University of Waikato. My thesis was on plant functional traits of native NZ trees, and how they vary across NZ in relation to climate and soil fertility gradients. This type of research can help us to understand processes such as community assembly, environmental filtering, and changes in tree distributions. I am also interested in learning about ferns, epiphytes, orchids....(-: I also have a strong interest in invertebrates. I have helped with some research on longhorn beetles, and organised a couple of moth observing nights.

I love sharing observations and making the links between different organisms!
