Throughout my life, I have watched the natural and wild places I enjoy disappear. Humanity does not respect nature as much as we should so I became a California Naturalist to try to change things. I am originally from New England and lived most of my life with 4 distinct seasons, summer rains and winter snow. At times, the climate in northern California still confuses me. I lived in San Jose and believe there are plenty of opportunities to support native flora and fauna in the heart of high tech. I was a landscape contractor by trade and worked with clients to use their landscaping to support native habitats.

My wife and I are now living in Maine and I'm exploring possibilities for incorporating habitat for indigenous creatures in residential landscapes.
