I'm a Geography teacher (my specialty is cultural geography) at Black Hills State University. I"m also a fiber artist, and I've developed a fascination with lichens after becoming aware of them as a dye bearing plant. Ethical collection prevents much serious dyeing with the species available in the Black Hills, but my interest has surpassed dying possibilities at this point. Each specimen is beautiful in it's own right.
