Hello fellow iNater, iNatian, or el iNatareno if your not into the whole brevity thing,

Thank you for checking out my profile and especially my observations. I gladly welcome your help in identifying my unknowns and even more so for correcting any misidentified observations. My observations consist of mostly flora and fauna that I observe on my daily walks, hikes and meanderings in and around Oakland California and the San Francisco Bay Area. I am not professionally versed in any particular taxon or discipline, but I would say I enjoy the study of botany the most. California is an amazing place of diversity and I thoroughly enjoy learning and teaching others about the myriad of life that exists here.

I was raised up in the rural north woods of central Maine where I developed a healthy curiosity for nature. In Maine nature is always at your backdoor, front door, side door, barn door, car door and pretty much everywhere else. I remember summer nights of giant June bugs slamming themselves against the window screens in their attraction to my bedroom lights. Salamanders in the basement, groundhogs in the garden, birds in the barn, and mosquitos occupying every other unclaimed space. Maine is a wonderful place to grow up and the way of life is something I miss all the time. Having deer meat in the freezer, partridge, lobster in the pot, clam chowder, fiddleheads, dandelion greens, boiled dinners, rhubarb pie, blueberry ice cream, whoopie pies, and dem steamed red hot dogs. Sitting on the porch watching a summer lighting storm, or gazing out the window at a winter blizzard. Maine is an awesome place and if you get the chance make sure to visit just make sure to bring some bug repellant.

I moved to Oakland California ten years ago and I now call it my home. I am currently studying Conservation Biology and Ecology at California State University East Bay. I am uncertain what profession I would like to enter but I am exploring my opportunities as I continue my studies. I really enjoy teaching and I have spent some time as an interpretive naturalist. I am also fascinated by the work of professional and amateur scientists and I would aspire to work in field research myself. iNaturalist is an awesome place for people like myself and you. I hope you enjoi my observations and again I thank you for your interest and help.

If you would like to contact me please message me using iNaturalist or email at greenrosettas@gmail.com. Thank you and happy herpin'!
