Evolutionary mammalogist, university professor, and museum curator with research interests in small-mammal taxonomy, biogeography, and phylogeography. Competent birder and herper with particular familiarity with the terrestrial vertebrates of the Pacific Northwest, high desert, and Columbia Plateau. I split my time between Central Oregon, eastern Washington, and Alaska.

Most of my iNaturalist observations are aimed at documenting occurrences outside the known geographic or temporal/phenological range in the literature for a given taxon. I am not an exhaustive uploader.
