I have been an outdoor enthusiast since the age of 6, growing up near the lakes and beaches of South Carolina. In, on and around the water is where I prefer to be. I have been trained and employed as an environmental scientist since 2004, when I joined the U.S. Air Force as a Weather Forecaster; I was qualified to observe the natural weather, analyze regional environmental patterns and produce forecasts based upon meteorological & oceanographic (METOC) processes. I transferred to the U.S. Navy Reserve as a METOC Forecaster in 2012, the same year I enrolled at the University of Washington to pursue my Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies.

I enjoy gardening, hiking in the Pacific Northwest, kayaking and fishing, as well as swimming. I also study the natural and built environments' impact on communities, as well as residents' relationship with their surroundings, as an apprentice emergency management specialist.
