I am a beginning "wanna-be-birder" and so enjoy observing birds. I have REI binoculars and sometimes take them with me when hiking/walking. I have noticed that my most interesting observations are when I don't have my binoculars. I live at the coast in the San Francisco bay area where there are loads of different birds.
