Retired AF Physician, lifelong outdoorsman. I own a 20-acre woodlot in Morrisville, NY and recently completed both an NRCS/EQIP wildlife habitat improvement project (involving creation of early successional forest habitat), and a Partners for Fish & Wildlife project involving creation and enhancement of seasonal woodland pools. I'm a member of Onondaga Audubon Society and both enjoy birding (now using eBird) and teaching a Birding by Ear course. I'm working toward my Master Naturalist certification with Cornell Cooperative Extension. I'm particularly interested in invasive species monitoring (esp HWA, EAB, and certain plant species) and enter observational data through iMap Invasives. I will also be involved with Cornell Coop Ext in an AVID research project (related to deer browse pressure/forest regeneration). For as much time as I spend in the woods, it makes sense to document other sightings.
