I'm the Citizen Science Coordinator for Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's (WDFW) Diversity (Non-Game) Wildlife Program. Conservation doesn't happen without people, so WDFW is committing resources from the Watchable Wildlife Program (funded by our Eagle background license plate) to engage more of the wildlife-watching public in data collection where we have gaps and needs. That data effort will help inform conservation and natural resources management for our beautiful state. Soon, we will have a few iNaturalist projects to help collect data on Washington's Species of Greatest Conservation Need.
