Description

Caps: largest 2.5 - 3 inches across. Most smaller.

Gills: Running down the stem, ridges not plates, not separable from stem or cap.

Stem:length 1 - 1.5 times width of cap.

Smell: very mild

Spore Print: pinkish cream

Spore Dimensions:
[20/1/1] L (-7.3) 7.5 – 8.3 -(8.9) μm x W (-3.7) 3.9 – 5.2 (-5.5) μm, (L = 8.0 μm, W = 4.4 μm), Q (-1.51) 1.60 – 1.99 (-2.04), Q = 1.84 Elongate

These spore dimensions differ from Cantharellus cinnabarinus being longer and having a higher length to width ratio.

However, they are shorter than the lengths reported for C. texensis.
