Description
I regularly document some of the interesting or distinctive Hemipterans and "Homopterans" that show up at my porchlight but don't often take the time to ID all of them. This one is a distinctive little leafhopper and on BugGuide the suggested common name is "Pale-sided Leafhopper" (from its Latin name). TL about 5-6mm. I don't recall having seen it previously although it reportedly hangs out on Live Oaks. See,

The second image shows the leafhopper next to the flatid bug Metcalfa pruinosa, which has been abundant in my garden this year.
