The target bird for the stop. Third year now this guy has shown up at this rest stop for the winter. Kept thinking it was odd. But seeing the rest area helped it is has a natural are with trails at either end, a pond with a recycling waterfall.
His behavior is very uncharacteristic of species. Tended to stay in picnic areas and hop around on the ground a lot while we were there. Almost like a sparrow. I called him crazy bird.
