A small dark-mottled brown to reddish-brown frog that emerged on the sidewalk in the evening after a brief rainfall. S-V length about 4 cm. The frog (in photo) had moderately conspicuous dorsolateral folds, contrary to description in Leenders ("A Guide to Amphibians and Reptiles of Costa Rica," 2001, Zona Tropical).
