Only five of these lizards were observed in two separate locations during the middle of the day. A group of three was found in a shady area in a gorge with a permanent stream. All individuals were seen on rocks along the stream in the shade. They seemed to be watching for butterflies to waft by. When approached then ran towards cracks in the rocks as opposed to towards the stream. Two individuals were observed hiding in the roots of mango tree, just above the water line. They ran into the roots when startled. I suspect these individuals had been washed out from the higher area. My sense is that this species is threatened in this area by tree cutting along the gorge and by flash floods they probably drown them out.
