Description

Squamish habitat: Estuary moist (wet) open

Squamish location: East delta

in fruit - The fruit of this plant and other examples of the same species are consistently much longer in the Squamish Estuary than described for Bidens amplissima (Port Alberni's Somass Estuary examples are typical), otherwise they are similar in being flat and concave between the veins. This longer awned form is known only from the Squamish and Fraser River estuaries (pers. comm. Frank Lomer). The genetics of the Bidens species in BC is very complex, and further research is needed.
