This species occurs from parts of Mexico south into Central America. It is similar to Canyon Rubyspot, American Rubyspot and Smoky Rubyspot of the U.S. Note the little green triangle on the rear of the thorax. This, among other field characters ID this damselfly. The species does not have an accepted common name but is sometimes referred to as Highland Rubyspot.
