Species ID tentative. Small wasp, 5.2 mm. At least it's showing the wing venation -- can anyone narrow down the ID? Pretty sure it's a braconid. Photographed possibly checking out a Japanese Maple Leafhopper, but doesn't look like anything in the Chrysidoidea. Looks a bit like Chrysopophthorus americanus, but the eyes seem steel blue rather than iridescent green. Matches this photo on BugGuide; maybe that one will get IDed one of these days: bugguide.net/node/view/10719.
And sure enough! 12/09, that one ID'ed by v belov as Rogadinae > Yelicones. So that seems like a pretty good provisional ID for my guy too.
3/11: Thank you to Ross Hill for his comment on BugGuide: "As far as I know, only Yelicones delicatus has the bicolorous pterostigma that is yellow on the basal third and dark brown distally, so your referenced pic [see link above] would also apply. This can be moved to Yelicones for the time being, however."
