Heat Map of Caterpillar Observations

When we have finished adding past caterpillar observations from all the states in the project area to the project, I will do some sort of summary of observations by state, taxonomy, etc. For now, however, you may enjoy checking out this heat map of project observations. Thanks to @carrieseltzer for the inspiration & the execution.

I very am impressed by the group effort on this. Great work everyone! I will add my own caterpillar observations.

@kylejones has pointed out that, if you click somewhere on the heat map, it will pull up observations that don't have anything to do with our project. I have a feeling that this is due to the beta status of the heat map feature, and that the map is still representing the distribution of observations in our project, but don't know for sure. @carrieseltzer, do you have any experience with click-throughs on the heat map pulling up seemingly-random observations?

Interesting way to display this. Great job!

In my clicking around the heat map, I am only seeing caterpillars. I wonder what the difference is?

I'm clicking it and only getting caterpillars now too. I swear it was different yesterday!

Cool! I, too, was clicking through before and getting all sorts of random things, but am now only getting caterpillars. Which is great, if mysterious.
