Project now obsolete

I made this project because the other project called "Mating Behaviour" (found at https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/mating-behaviour and owned by @biohexx1 ), at the time, only accepted observations from North America, which is highly limiting. However, I just today learned that this other project is now inclusive of global observations (I have no idea when that change occurred). The other project is far more popular than this one, and is more likely to be the go-to project when looking for mating behaviors. Therefore, in order to consolidate them all into one place, if you add observations to this project, I ask that you add them to the other one in the future instead.

I really enjoyed this project very much. It was just right for me. I’m sad to see it go.😢

@botanicaltreasures Aww, thanks! I hope it is a consolation that the other mating behaviour project is basically the same exact thing, but with more observations added to it (and probably better management). Naturally, I am a member of it as well.

I will try to dry my eyes. If only there were a simple way to merge these two projects together.

Is there a way to move all my photos to the other site Mating Behaviour in one fell swoop? Or are they already moved?

@mokennon That is what I would like to know. I tried to figure out a way to do it myself before making this post, but it seems like each observation must be added manually. (Same reason why all the observations in the other project never got moved here in the first place, even though each observation from there would also fit here by definition.) At least, asking people to move their own observations is easier than going through each of them by myself.

Hi @eccentric_entomop Well, i only had 95 observations so I went to my "grand" observation page which had observations 4 across and so forth down to the end. I did the sort rote thing

click on observation - that takes you to your "edit observations" page for that critter.

go to the right where they show you which projects you have put your picture into (or someone else did it for you).
3a. if you are already in "mating behaviour" you can just go back to the observation page to look for the next observation.
3b. If not click on "add to project" By now the Mating Behaviour project shows up in the list of projects you have joined. Choose M B
and go back to the observation page.
Follow steps 1-3 again and again.

Good thing I only had 95 observations, so it only took about an hour and a half.

I suppose that when you close down Mating Behaviour Global, all the observations in there will disappear, so that we won't have to delete them from MBG. Good luck to you on putting the whole baby to bed. Thanks for maintaining such a lovely project. How are you going to make sure that all the observations have been canceled from MBG so you can issue a desperate Last Chance message?

This has been a great place for us to showcase all our "different" pictures. Thanks again for maintaining the project!!!!!!

Thanks @mokennon ! I was not actually planning on deleting the project, since the only way I can make sure that every observation has been moved to the other Mating Behaviour is by looking at each and every one (which is more than is worth my time). No reason not to just leave it as a historical artifact, at least. My desire is simply to have all the observations that contain mating behaviour to be findable in one place, whether that is my place or someone else's.
