I posted a draft/preprint article on researchgate.net (URI below). These are results of sequencing rosette gall and pinecone gall makers from Alaska and Michigan collected and dissected from galls by my crew and by @tmelvin.
A DNA barcode for this entity was obtained via a LifeScanner kit (http://www.lifescanner.net).

These tiny galls were difficult to spot. I had looked for these and failed multiple times until yesterday.
I finally found some Salix hookeriana willows at Turnagain Arm on my third attempt. We extracted the midge larvae today.

We obtained sequence data from one of two rose gall midges submitted from Salix richardsonii.

This weekend my son and I found rosette galls on Salix richardsonii at Palmer Creek, Kenai Peninsula, Alaska (see URI below). This was a host we had been trying to find since last winter. We extracted larvae to be sequenced soon.
