I think the only problem is "The geographic borders of the distributions of M. insularis and M. kanoana within Taiwan are unknown". So we'd probably have to elevate most observations to genus.
I understand, but from my perspective, that is a more minor issue than having a taxon with research-grade IDs in limbo on the site.

This species isn't yet in IUCN, I think they would have called this Mogera insularis. We can explicitly deviate from IUCN to accomodate but wanted to read this first: http://biology.thu.edu.tw/files/writing_journal/12/55_e72bcea3.pdf
