Phytolacca esculenta is a synonym of P. acinosa (see Flora of China: http://www.efloras.org/florataxon.aspx?flora_id=2&taxon_id=200007011) |

Yes, as far as I am aware, genera that start with the letter P are still in a no man's zone as far as curation goes:
https://www.inaturalist.org/projects/inaturalist-vascular-plant-working-group/journal/18353
sorry, no ideas about correct synonymy... but WFO also accepts P. esculenta: http://www.worldfloraonline.org/taxon/wfo-0000482094
iNat also has this combination www.inaturalist.org/taxa/155485-Phytolacca-acinosa-esculenta
@bouteloua I see the "letter P genera" no longer mentioned in the curator guide, is this issue resolved?
I agree, we still have two active taxa for the same species. Can P. esculenta be merged into P. acinosa @bouteloua?
KEW / POWO still recognize it: (POWO is our official plant source, UNLESS the genus starts with "P"... so I don't know)
