KEW / POWO still recognize it: (POWO is our official plant source, UNLESS the genus starts with "P"... so I don't know)

Yes, as far as I am aware, genera that start with the letter P are still in a no man's zone as far as curation goes:

sorry, no ideas about correct synonymy... but WFO also accepts P. esculenta: http://www.worldfloraonline.org/taxon/wfo-0000482094

In POWO, P. esculenta now is a synonym of P. acinosa. Should we follow? Presently, we have the same plants under both names.

@bouteloua I see the "letter P genera" no longer mentioned in the curator guide, is this issue resolved?

Please excuse my ignorance, since I don't reall know how iNat works internally yet. Will anything be done about this? This discussion seems inconclusive about the subject.

I agree, we still have two active taxa for the same species. Can P. esculenta be merged into P. acinosa @bouteloua?
