This must be filed as deviation. POWO is based on 40 year old publications.
As far as I can tell, POWO explicitly cite Biral (2014) for their choice, and also Zuloaga & Belgrano (2017) for the combination under Maytenus. I am going through with the merge.
note for any curator taking this on, POWO actually accepts as a synonym of Maytenus, so it either needs to go in as that, or filed as a deviation
