@loarie: "Aneides flavipunctatus (sensu lato) rather than Aneides iecanus, Aneides niger, & Aneides flavipunctatus (sensu stricto)"

Can I ask about this one? I've been under the impression for the last decade that the split was solid and everyone was just waiting around for the right bodies to accept it. If Amphibian Species of the World accepts it, why not us? Especially since the three forms are easily distinguishable morphologically and have easily designated range differences.

Yes we are currently deviating https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_framework_relationships/22681 but I don't think getting in line with ASW would be controversial

@loarie - I created the new taxa and put together the taxon split. All of the taxa have atlases but A. klamathensis needs a better range map to be drawn The map for flavipunctatus also goes too far north but I will fix this when I fix the klamathensis map. But the atlases are correct.

OK split - https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/80413
thanks for your help with this. I took a shot at the taxon ranges but I think they need work. I used your atlases. A. klamathensis A. iecanus and northern A. flavipunctatus obs probably need to be manually reID'd since the atlases overlap
