a lot of records are being tagged with this taxon ID even though there is zero evidence of them being hybrids. I think having this option leads us to false assumptions.

@sandboa it's people following the range maps from Burbrink & Guiher, where the hybrid zones are actually larger than the ranges of some of the parent "species". Treating these as complexes is probably the best options.

I agree a species complex option is a much better solution than the presumption of hybridization.
