I've wired this up as a deviation https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/27429/taxonomy_details . My preference is to hold off until the other un-nammed lineages mentioned in the paper are named in future publications. Its annoying when these authors roll out these splits piecemeal

Makes sense to me

Aneides caryaensis has been in ASW for a while now - I was waiting for unnammed lineages mentioned in the paper to be named because its not clear from the paper where Aneides aeneus stops and Aneides caryaensis begins. But if anyone has this info

I can't find an exact paper but A. caryaensis is only found within the Hickory Nut Gorge (aka as Chimney Rock State Park) while A. aeneus is found everywhere else.

@loarie can you also remove Aneides caryaensis as a synonym for A. aeneus please?
