we better avoided active synonyms, as there might currently be several within Blechnum in wide sense

I got to assume there will be several taxa with duplicate active listing of synonyms, but this needs to be avoided as a rule.

Currently active:
Blechnum fluviatile (Accepted by POWO)
Blechnum nudius
Cranfillia fluviatilis

Since PPG I accepts the breakup of the genus Blechnum, should we be using names in the genera it accepts? It is nonsensical, for instance, to accept the genus Cranfillia, but to accept its type species as Blechnum fluviatile.

Blechnum nud-[i]um = Lomaria nuda, different species so far

My apologies, I misspelled it. Blechnum nudius.

All right, i see, however, double or multiple listing is nonsense. Sure this is not the only one, still i cancelled caring actively, never ending story as usual in real life!

No way, i surely won't ask Christopher for his decision, as he is overloaded with concerns upon other kind of ferns, as usual.

I don't know what that means, but the swap has to be made one direction or the other to resolve the problem you have. One way or the other, it will be in conflict with one of the taxonomic authorities listed on iNat for ferns. This direction will mean fewer observations changed.

@jameskm James, i just pointed out the fact that Christopher @choess had done several taxon changes before, and is most busy in studying and curating other kinds of plants in general.
I do agree to your draft and argumentation. For previous changes see https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes?taxon_id=700995 and https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/31336
In other words the same taxon change has been done about 2 years ago, but the same name Blechnum fluviatile was added again.
Unfortunately such multiple addings of same taxa happens frequently, causing a lot of effort.
Best regards
Erwin

I committed the change. If we want to signal to curators to avoid curating towards POWO we have to invest in creating and maintaining well formed deviations. Happy to help anyone understand how these work. Here's one for this branch
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/724192-Lomariocycas-aurata/taxonomy_details
its seems a bit incomplete (e.g. some of the genera are empty or missing obvious members of the clade
but its a start. If you guys could list out here what that deviation should look like, I can help get it set up that way
