I'm sorry, that was a mistake.
It seems that C. japonicus should be swapped into C. serratus.

Swap to C. serratus seems to be correct, only the unpublished var. minor would be C. quadrifolius. But since the name C. japonicus was in use for both C. serratus and C. quadrifolius according to Ohba & Akiyama, it would probably be wise to have a look at all the swapped observations for C. quadrifolius.

Certainly, also in iNat, many of the 36 observations identified as C. japonicus seem to include C. quadrifolius. So, before the swap, it would be better to add the IDs of C. quadrifolius to the related observations, I think too.
