R. sanctus & R. sanguineus are separate taxa in iNat, but both are listed as Jr syns of R. creticus at http://www.plantsoftheworldonline.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:77205547-1 |

Swapped into Rubus creticus |
Possible synonym of Rubus ulmifolius according to this study:
http://dx.doi.org/10.5252/a2016n1a4
why are there still observations identified as this taxon after the swap?
https://www.inaturalist.org/observations?locale=en&place_id=any&preferred_place_id=6899&taxon_id=546296
As only two are still present we can correct the ID manually.

Yes, but I'd like to know what the reason is. It's also happened for other swaps on a larger scale (e.g. the Complex Rubus fruticosus swap) so if it's a bug it needs to fixed. Also, if you are just correcting the failed swap cascade, the ID should be Rubus creticus (as per POWO), rather than R. ulmifolius.
Yes you are right
