is this a mistake? Streptocarpus is the genus |

Nonetheless, both subgenera should have deviations from POWO. And both are also empty, both of species and of observations. Should we just inactivate them? @kai_schablewski
Not true; subgenus Streptocarpella has two observations IDed as that, and subgenus Streptocarpus has one. They are just casual observations. As for deviations from POWO, sure, go ahead. I think probably Streptocarpus species should be sorted into the subgenera rather than the subgenera being inactivated or swapped into the genus, though.
http://dx.doi.org/10.12705/646.8 might do. We would have to subsume Saintpaulia under Streptocarpus (as POWO has it).
Thanks for making a deviation for this https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_framework_relationships/476174 I added a link back to this flag from the deviation
But I agree with kitty12 that since these subgenera are empty (all species are currently grafted tot eh genus) https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/343506-Streptocarpus they are not helpful. We should either get rid of them, or move the species to their respective subgenera.
What would people prefer? Looping in @phinaea
also I see this is related to the Saintpaulia/Streptocarpus issue described here https://www.inaturalist.org/flags/485089
I would lump everything into Streptocarpus. It would be too complicated to implement a subgeneric or infrageneric system on iNaturalist. The subgeneric classification of Streptocarpus is not fully resolved. For example, not all currently recognized Streptocarpus are assigned a subgenus. Most Streptocarpus could be assigned to one of the two subgenera, but at least ten taxa are not resolved. Thus, those ten taxa would not have a rank.
I asked the other curators from the GRC (Gesneriaceae Resource Centre – based out of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh in Scotland). We like the idea but acknowledge that it would be complicated to implement on our end. Likewise, it would be even more complicated to implement on iNat. Currently, there is no precedence for an infrageneric classification system in the Gesneriaceae.
My recommendation is to recognize all Saintpaulia as Streptocarpus (i.e., no subgenera or infrageneric ranks).
FYI - you can refer to our system here:

OK great, I lumped those subgenera into the genus https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/100155
What is the problem here? This is the autonym created when the first subgenus was published.
