eBird does not list any hybrids. Any sources?

eBird does not list a lot of hybrids due to them not being common enough.

This DoC article touches on hybrid birds:
https://www.doc.govt.nz/globalassets/documents/getting-involved/translocation/translocation-best-practice-kakariki.pdf

"Note that red-crowned parakeets on Tiritiri Matangi Island, Moutuhora (Whale) Island and
Cuvier Island (Repanga Island) are not considered suitable as a source for translocation.
This is because they were established from captive-bred stock that were hybridised with
yellow-crowned parakeets (Cromarty & Hitchmough 2005)."

What prompted this flag in the first place was this observation; https://inaturalist.nz/observations/69757848
Where it appears like there is a noticeable patch of yellow at the top of the crown.

This paper also talks about kakariki hybrids of all species.
https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/03036758.2015.1084337

It also mentions the iffy nature on the Red-crowned and Yellow-crowned Parakeets of the Auckland Islands.

@skipperdogman I think you got the eBird part wrong. I think it's the lack of foreign communication because there's a huge disproportion of US and Canada avian hybrids compared to the rest of the world, and most of those hybrid are one-time flings (has anyone actually seen a Ring-billed x Herring Gull), so these hybrids "not being common enough" is not correct. I think you'd find some success if you ping them an e-mail with your sources explaining why they should be implemented into their system this August.

Good idea.
I've sent through an email suggesting Kakariki hybrids, as well as a few other hybrid suggestions.

Will Kakariki hybrids be considered for iNat?

@skipperdogman In terms of implementing these hybrids, it will not be coming from me and it has nothing to do with whether or not these hybrids exist. I'm just trying my best to follow the Clements Checklist and since they don't have hybrids, I'm particularly cautious about adding them, which is why I rely so heavily on eBird. If another curator is ok with creating them, I'm fine with that.

Looking at those online articles, those hybrids should exist. I have added them, but feel free to let me know if anyone has an opinion against it.
