@thomaseverest Where does it say in the curator guide that this isn't allowed? I think it's a tricky situation but necessary to add these hybrids. We need to remember that Audubon's and Myrtle Warbler used to be considered two different species and there's still a large backing of birders who believe they still are species. Now imagine if they were resplit... then all hybrids on iNat would have to be revised to determine if the Yellow-rumped parent is either Audubon's or Myrtle. So why not allow hybrids involving species-like taxa?
Hybrids should only be made between taxa of the same rank.

I don't have much of a personal opinion.
Which isn't allowed by the curator guide. But if it was maybe it should be grafted to the genus?
