Search for Eleodes osculans on GBIF: https://www.gbif.org/species/8534167
Go to the taxon page on iNat for this species
Under the Taxonomy tab, click Taxon Schemes and click Edit next to the GBIF entry
Paste the species ID (8534167) into the Source Identifier box and save
I've done so for this one. Does it look OK now?
Great, I needed that tutorial, because there are likely other Eleodes species (and as one user remarked in the forum, other insect taxa) that are similarly out of whack
There is a thread in the forum about this problem [https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/something-wrong-with-gbif-map-overlays-for-species-in-the-genus-eleodes/26126], and it seems the fix is a matter of editing the taxon. I have credentials to do that, but I don't know how. Can somebody clue me in?
