Genus Platydema was treated neuter in most relevant sources, but considered feminine in https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5799738/ (and there discussed, why).
This may apply to Scaphidema as well.
You are right. It is exactly the same case. And it is discussed and rectified in exactly the same publication.
The Scaphidema species on iNat at the moment are a merry mix of genders.
Holarctic genus -- will you fix it, or would you like me to do it?
No, thanks - I'll care for it!
