I made a bug report in the forum: https://forum.inaturalist.org/t/cant-create-species-with-epithet-complex/27541
according to the original species description https://archive.org/details/psyche__7189496camb/page/121/mode/1up?view=theater
the species name is "complex" which appears to be a forbidden word on iNaturalist! Not sure how to work around this. I now name it -complex- instead of complex. ;-)
