Ok by me.

Yep. Already did the Coryphella swaps a few days ago.

Actually it looks like all genera have been synonymised with Coryphella? That's quite the change. I'm OK doing that but I'm worried it might ruffle feathers. Big changes tend to do that.

Tagging some more people for opinions:
@v_s_ @mcduck @jeffgoddard @hsini_lin @kueda @erwinkoehler @bernardpicton

I don't have an opinion other than a preference for following MolluscaBase to minimize debate on iNat.

Same opinion as @kueda

Agreed, that's been our policy (WoRMS).

OK here is what the merge would be:

I would actually waited a couple of weeks, so the Coryphella experts could come up with an answer/report back. They went thru a big change a couple years ago. And as far as i know, they wasnt confronted/asked or discussed before this last paper. I did notice Martynov tried to comment the paper on NudiBase on Facebook. Instead of a comment or a respond, the comment got deleted, he got kicked out and the commentfield closed. That sounds very suspicious and defensive to me. Why wouldnt anyone wonna hear the respond to one of the author of the description of the species that was in the paper? At least the comment should not be deleted. Sorry, a bit off topic.

@heinejens Thanks for the input. I have tried to include the nudibranch people here, but I don't know who is the most involved in this genus. Could you tag anyone I have missed? In my experience there is an unfortunate trend of the experts not commenting on taxon changes until after they've been committed, even if they were tagged beforehand. Might be good to send some personal messages.

@heinejens @thomaseverest As has been said before, it is not up to us or other iNatters to adjudicate between dueling taxonomists. Waiting for agreement is not needed, and iNat is not peer review. Our rules are clear (and we've discussed changing the admittedly imperfect rules several times, and agreed not to change them) - so if a change is on WoRMS, we follow it. Since this change has been accepted on WoRMS, we have to go with it.
Press COMMIT! ;-)

@anudibranchmom In going through our mollusk taxon framework, I'm finding that MB definitely has some errors or is not always up to date. I've gotten some pretty harsh feedback from experts for following MB in these situations so I would prefer to make sure people at least agree with this as a possible interpretation.

@thomaseverest I'm sorry that people have chosen to unfairly target you (the messenger, and a dedicated volunteer). Would you prefer that I hit the button - I'm fine with explaining our policy to anyone who asks.

Posted by anudibranchmom about 2 years ago

I'm OK with committing, but I would prefer that any potential dissenters are aware beforehand.

Posted by thomaseverest about 2 years ago

Thanks thomaseverest. I'm also a fan of following WoRMs. I committed this. The most observose member was Orienthella trilineata -> Coryphella trilineata
