Here is the link to the publication where the genus has been revalidated 3 years ago. Mantodea SpeciesFile is far from updated for many Neotropical taxa.
situation with us is as follows:
Metaphotina inactivated by swap [2022] into Acontista;
a single taxon in species rank, and its observations affected:
brevipennis Saussure, 1872.

Yes, "Ferraz" it's me! At the moment the genus Metaphotina has five species attributed to it:
Metaphotina piracicabensis Piza, 1964 [genotype]
Metaphotina bimaculata Saussure, 1870
Metaphotina brevipennis Saussure, 1872
Metaphotina rehni Giglio-Tos, 1927
Metaphotina austri Ferraz et al. 2023
