Stachys rigida (Nuttall ex Bentham) is an active name on iNaturalist. Stachys ajugoides var. rigida (Nutt ex Benth) Jepson & Hoover has the same lectotype. Shouldn't only one of these names be used on iNat?

Yes, both are legitimate names. They refer to the same type specimen, so it seems like only one needs to be used on iNaturalist, and Jepson eFlora indicates that the name Stachys ajugoides var. rigida has fallen out of use.

It has not fallen out of use in Plants of the World Online, which is the authority we follow. You may wish to bring this information to their attention, however. bi@kew.org
