I made a swap here https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/115020
Taxon swap affecting Tibouchina pulchra
I received a message called "loarie committed a taxon swap affecting Tibouchina pulchra".
I checked my record affected and saw that I "suggested an ID Pleroma raddianum".
I am probably not up to date on taxonomy of the Melastomataceae, but I doubt that the species I photographed in Sao Paulo is Pleroma raddianum, which looks differently.
I keyed Tibouchina pulchra using Fernandes, P. G. e A. Borges 1997. Tibouchina sect. Pleroma (D. Don) Cogn. (Melastomataceae) no estado de São Paulo,Revta brasil. Bot., São Paulo, V.20, n.1, p.11-33.
It very well may be that some Tibouchina spp. were recently moved to the genus Pleroma, but I'll need to do some research before suggesting that change.
Do you know is there is a way "to disagree", at least temporarily, with iNaturalist taxonomic changes?
Thank you!
Michael
