huttonia Typical Spiders (Suborder Araneomorphae)

Araneomorphae is an infraorder, not a suborder

For some reason, the curators on iNaturalist place Araneomorphae as a suborder when it is actually an infraorder of the suborder Opisthothelae. This makes infraorders Entelegynae and Haplogynae not infraorders but a taxon lower. Furthermore, iNaturalist does not include the RTA-clade, the group of araneomorphs with a retrolateral tibial apophysis on the male palp.

@mhedin Can you fix this?

see https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/120474/taxonomy_details for the deviation from WSC

for people seeing this flag, please do not rush to make the change, as it will be extremely disruptive; there are almost 3 million observations in this clade currently

Thanks!

I have no comment on the validity of the current taxonomy (not my expertise), just highlighting where the current deviation stems from

Well, thanks for the help! I sure hope it is changed soon.

as I said above, please don't attempt to make this change before further discussion as it will be highly disruptive :)
