Certainly possible, but it's an easy typo to make so I imagine it's happened independently on any number of occasions. Conveniently for our sanity, the RWC shows the original description matches the currently accepted "ii" spelling, so we can be confident any other spelling is a typo:

there is no such species as Lecane ludwigi and these all resemble Lecane ludwigii, so to me this appears to be an obvious typo and I would suggest moving/merging these IDs to Lecane ludwigii.
