@loarie Hi, I attach a proposal of the potential distribution the new species of Bothrocophias base on Angarita et al. (2022).
Potential geographic distribution of Bothrocophias microphtalmus sensu lato, B. tulitoi and B. myrringae.

In adittion, a map more accurate using Inaturalist observations
Potential geographic distribution of Bothrocophias tulitoi and Bothrocophias myrringae

I hope this helps to make a taxon split that actualize the current observations which appear as Bothrocophias microphthalmus.

Thanks - I drafted a retroactive split here https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/120821
next step is to adjust the ranges and atlases as you describe here

Okay, glad to help.

Atlases created, kept them simple, only covers current observations per maps above.

Need assistance creating kml files for ranges?

Posted by lwnrngr about 1 year ago

ranges would be great if you have them

Posted by loarie about 1 year ago

I have created the atlases
Provisional ranges created and overlaid on a custom google map
If there are no corrections or suggestions, I'll upload them to iNat in the next few days.

Bothrocophias myrringae & Bothrocophias tulitoi ranges look great
can you add a B. microphthalmus sensu stricto range?

Posted by loarie about 1 year ago

Sorry, lost internet connection for a bit.
Range for B. microphthalmus sensu stricto added. Northern end trimmed, southern end extended into Bolivia to encompass specimens listed in paper above.
