Genus Radumeris shows up in searches of two superfamilies

Curators, please dont fix this manually (yet). I suspect it may be the result of a bug that existed when this taxon change was made. It may be more efficient for staff to reindex the two superfamilies.
See these forum posts for more details:

Did you reach out to staff? I don't know if this is a huge priority for them.

Two recent flags (604606, 604607) for species in different genera hinted that the issue might be more widespread.

A manually inspection revealed the following showing in a global search of Vespoidea when they should be in Scolioidea or Formicoidea:
Colpa octomaculata
Colpa quinquecincta
Colpa sexmaculata
Campsomeriella collaris
Campsomeriella thoracica
Campsomeris bistrimacula
Crioscolia alcione
Dasyscolia ciliata
Dielis plumipes
Dielis tolteca
Dielis trifasciata
Dielis pilipes
Dielis dorsata
...others

Genera:
Pseudomyrmex
Cephalotes
Dorylus
...more

@loarie per your request in the forum, "... if you see branches with the index being out of sync (eg ants) let us know and we’ll reindex that branch."
Could Vespoidea, Scolioidea and Formicoidea please be re-indexed?
Maybe also the other 3 superfamilies in that taxon swap?

Interesting, some species do/don't show when searching under or excluding each kingdom. ie. it may or may not know the taxon's kingdom when the iconic taxon is not known

Is this only affecting searches in Explore, or also Identify?

Posted by bdagley over 1 year ago

@bdagley, the pages look and feel very similar so issue might exist there too, but I haven't looked for it on the Identify page. If they use the same indexes then maybe?

I checked the taxonomic framework and there's no issue there but am unsure about the cause.

Yeah, the taxa are ok. It's just the Explore (& maybe Ident too) indexes that need to be updated.

The indexes exist for website speed and reduce computation. Wouldn't want to run a decedent search through every taxa whenever a higher level taxon is searched.
