so the steps here are
1 . Create the new species (https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/1445260-Hesperilla-hopsoni)
2 . Do a taxon swap (https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/new) to swap the ssp to the new species
Thanks! I thought that's what it was I just didn't want to go guns-ablazing into the wrong thing!
Thanks for doing it for me - I'll try to do the next ones myself when they arise.
Is it similar from genus transfers (e.g. Mynes geoffroyi should be moved to Symbrenthia geoffroyi - will track down that reference & make a flag at some point this week)?
See Johnson, S. J., & Wilson, P. R. (2005). A new subspecies of “Hesperilla crypsargyra” (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae) from southern Queensland and a new status for “Hesperilla hopsoni” Waterhouse. I would do this myself but not sure how to change subspecies to species (there are no observations of this taxon on the platform at present - it is found around the Granite Belt in s QLD / n NSW)
