Brodo's Lichens of North America and the Consortium of North American Lichen Herbaria spell this (epithet) as Parmeliella triptophylla.

The original incorrect orthography for the combination has been corrected under the rules of ICNAFP

Just so I understand...............thriptophylla is the correct spelling then?

The correct name is Parmeliella thriptophylla, based on Lecidea thriptophylla and incorrectly recombined as Parmeliella triptophylla. Authors of checklists don't always check the nomenclatural status or correct orthography of the names they include. Unless there are valid reasons then the fungal nomenclator, IndexFungorum, should always be followed for validity, legitimacy, authorship, place and year of publication and orthography.
