Amphibian Species of the World has lumped
Bufotes sitibundus & Bufotes balearicus into Bufotes viridis
Deviating for now
https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_framework_relationships/31193
should we follow the reference or continue deviating?

Hi, nothing against to lump Bufotes sitibundus & Bufotes balearicus into Bufotes viridis...
This change follow the checklist of the Taxonomic Committee of the Societas Europaea Herpetologica
https://brill.com/view/journals/amre/41/2/article-p139_1.xml?language=en

But if we lump these taxa into B. viridis, we should treat them as ssp., as follow:
Bufotes viridis --> B. v. viridis (the widespread taxon)
Bufotes balearicus --> B. v. balearicus (Italian Peninsula, Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Balearic islands)
Bufotes sitibundus --> B. v. sitibundus (Western Asia, the Arabian Peninsula, the Caucasus, theleft bank of Volga River, and the southern Ural in Russia,as well as western and northern Kazakhstan)
Is it possible ? Sorry i'm not very experienced in taxonomic changes on inat...
Best,
D.

Ok I made the change as you suggest, B. viridis now has 4 ssp including Bufotes viridis ssp. dionysi
