Taxon split completed |
My apologies; posted the wrong link it should be Pyrcz TW, Florczyk K, Collins S, Sáfián S, Mahecha-J O, Lachowska-Cierlik D. Alpha-taxonomy and phylogeny of African Junoniini butterflies based on morphological data, with an emphasis on genitalia, and COI barcode (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae). Zootaxa. 2021 Jun 24;4991(3):401-433. doi: 10.11646/zootaxa.4991.3.1. PMID: 34186836.
Thanks. So essentially, it's been suggested that a taxon split now be used for the observations that were just identified as the species rather than identified as a subspecies. Typically if possible and if known, it seems best for users who make taxon requests to summarize the needed changes in addition to linking a source, to ensure the curators implementing it know what changes to make and to help speed up the process. Which in this case would mean noting what observations located where should be split as what subspecies. I actually haven't re-checked this source recently, so it's unclear to me. Additional curators are also welcome to make the final change.
Brian:
You unresolved this flag. But before that there was this:

[also see discussion below map.]
I don't understand what's going on here. Is there really anything else to be done?
Cheers,

The taxon split was done a while ago https://www.inaturalist.org/taxon_changes/124510
