Please delete Kontikia ventrolineata and replace /give priority to Parakontikia ventrolineata.
This would be in line with the nomenclature in the Atlas of Living Australia and in recent publications ( Gastineau, R., Justine, JL. 2020. Complete mitogenome of the invasive land flatworm Parakontikia ventrolineata, the second Geoplanidae (Platyhelminthes) to display an unusually long cox2 gene. MITOCHONDRIAL DNA PART B 5 (3), 2115–2116.; and in the discussion in Gastineau, R., Winsor, L., and Justine, JL. 2022. The complete mitogenome of the potentially invasive flatworm Australopacifica atrata (Platyhelminthes, Geoplanidae) displays unusual features common to other Rhynchodeminae. ZooKeys 1110: 121–133.).
The earlier proposed synonymy with Kontikia is no longer accepted.
The uncertainties regarding penial type expressed in an earlier publication (Jones, HD., Johns, PM., and Winsor, L. 1996. The proposed synonymy of Parakontikia ventrolineata (Dendy, 1892) and Kontikia mexicana (Hyman, 1939): what is a penis papilla? 1996. Hydrobiologia 383: 91-96), were resolved in favour of the original placement of P. ventrolineata in Parakontikia (it does have an eversible penis, and parenchymal musculature as in the definition of Parakontikia), in Winsor, L. (2003). Studies on the Systematics and Biogeography of Terrestrial Flatworms (Platyhelminthes: Tricladida: Terricola) of the Australian Region. PhD thesis, unpublished.
Many thanks.

@leigh_winsor have you sent this information to WoRMS?

Yes. Seth Tyler wrote to me on 8th March 1999 because of confusion between Kontikia, Laubenfelsia, and Parakontikia, especially arising from the paper in Hydrobiologia (Jones, Johns and Winsor, 1998). I replied to Seth in a letter dated 10th March 1999 on this matter, providing a time line and comments concerning the confusing taxonomy. He responded on 10 March 1999. " Dear Leigh, Thanks you very much for your detailed and helpful reply on Parakontikia. I will do as you recommend in listing the hierarchy in the turbellarian database."
You will find that WoRMS cites Parakontikia ventrolineata at https://marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=taxdetails&id=484205.

Some of the initial problems arose as I published "A provisional classification of Australian terrestrial geoplanid flatworms ..." In the Victorian Naturalist 108(2)42-49, 2 September 1991 (where the genera have date priority).
However, at this time Ogren and Kawakatsu's "Index" was in the late stages of preparation, too late for them to incorporate my new taxa in the "Index" in which they classified ventrolineata as a Kontikia; their Index was published in December 1991. In fact they did not consider my classification until 1993, when they recognized Parakontikia, and P. ventrolineata, and again in their Locus Index in 1997 as Parakontikia ventrolineata.

Hope that this helps.

Many thanks,

Hi Leigh. I've committed the swap and updated the taxon framework so that it matches WoRMS currently. Previously, it was hooked to Laubenfelsia (subgenus) by WoRMS, but WoRMS seems to no longer recognize that subgenus.

Hi Kitty,
Very many thanks for resolving this matter. Greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards,
